How to get to the Calvary by car

For starting the tour of Calvary, we reccommend to start at the Calvary Infocenter which is placed just 80 meters from the first chapel and has parking as well.   To arrive there follow the main road from the direction of Sv. Anton, (Lesnícka street), and turn left at “Pod Kalváriou” street. Don´t forget to take free parking ticket in the infocenter and visit it´s interesting exhibition about Calvary.

The other access is also possible from side of the Calvara via Hájik street. Coming from Banská Belá or Žarnovica, it is the first street in Banska Stiavnica on the left side, just before the hill starts to slope into the city. From there you can get to the Lower church where, in case the weather is fine, is opened small exhibition as well.

The directional signs with the logo and inscription“KALVÁRIA“ placed on poles along the road will help you on the way.

How to get to the Calvary on foot

From the Trinity Square – go up the stairs to “ Horná Ružová” street, continue along to the botanical garden and turn left on“Mierová” Street. At the junction with the main road turn right into “Lesnícka” street and go about 300 meters after the intersection on the left side of the street “Pod Kalváriou”.

From the Post Office – go down hill in the direction of “Križovatka”, after a short while turn left on “Mládežnícka” street – climb up the “Mládežnícka” street and at the intersection with the main road turn right into “Lesnícka”street. Then proceed about 100 meters beyond the intersection and turn left side on “Pod Kalváriou”.

From the bus station head towards the town center but within 100 meters turn right on “Pletiarska” street, bear left, continue past the cemetery, to the intersection with the main road. Here turn left at “Sportová” street and continue 300 m until you reach the intersection with “Pod Kalváriou” street where you turn right to reach the first Calvary chappel.
