Garden behind the Lower Church was long-neglected and the terrain was marked by rubble,which created unnatural uneveness. The meadow behind the Lower Church has become avenue of pilgrimages in recent years.

The terrain was modified to smooth the slope. Stone retaining wall was completed covered with a wooden shingle roof. The wall was finished with lime plaster. A​​ wooden stage was constructed and wooden benches where built into the natural terrain.
