The originally magnificent portal with statues of Isaac, Abraham and Moses was in a dilapidated condition. Loose components were potentially hazardous to visitors. In the first phase of restoration it was completely removed, and its remaining parts documented and preserved. It is currently being restored and will be reinstalled after the restoration of the facade of the Upper Church is completed.
