Restoration work on rescuing the Baroque frescoes of chapel 6 began in 2008. The frescoes were threatened by encroaching moisture in the walls and consequent sloughing. It was necessary to carry out urgent restoration, and recovery of the overall chapel space – drainage under the pavement in the interior, repair of grilles and access doors and repairing the stone spiral stairs to the tower.
